Red Chair Enjoys Fine Wine
I always loved helping with that one school project where a class would send a bear or some other cute toy around the world. From Paris to Broadway, the White House to the annual meeting of Berkshire Hathaway, these little figures traveled to the most interesting and unexpected places. They also met some pretty interesting people along the way. I love this kind of random fun. I once carried a puppet called Flat Brennan all the way to Budapest, Hungary. Flat Brennan had his picture taken with a bunch of old communist statutes left to ruin in a field outside the city. He also rode the train, ate hungarian goulash and went to a Hungarian Rodeo! That said, I am looking forward to following the whimsical travels of the latest unlikely traveler, the Red Chair.
If you see this Red Chair sitting rather randomly somewhere in Washington state, chances are, there is a very dedicated bed and breakfast owner not far away. This humble Red Chair started its travels in 2011 in Cape Cod. After traveling cross country through 23 states, it has been moving up the West coast from southern California through Oregon and finally to Washington state.
The Red Chair travels to big cities, small towns and rural retreats, searching out those hidden gems of travel that we all long to find. It resides exclusively in bed and breakfast inns across the United States, enjoying warm hospitality, great breakfasts and the local scenery along the way.
Follow the Red Chair as it makes it's way across Washington state. Start in Walla Walla, the heart of the Wine Country in Washington state. The Red Chair has just arrived in Washington and has already visited lavender fields, met new friends, joined other "chairs" at a wine and cheese hour and relaxed by the pool.
Thank you to The Inn at Blackberry Creek and Cameo Heights Mansion for sharing your images of the Red Chair.
We look forward to seeing where the chair will be next week. The Red Chair is going to "Discover Washington, One Inn at a Time"!
